Option 1: Customer-managed Portfolio

Single-facility Analysis

American Energy Assets (AEA) provides a free service to single facilities that have an existing Portfolio Manager account and plan to continually update this account on a regular basis. Our energy portal is a highly innovative and interactive web-based tool that is capable of generating everything you need to know about your building's energy usage and performance. Shortly after AEA acknowledges your request to be your Benchmarking Provider, you will receive a username and password so you can quickly login whenever you please. Below are some examples of the types of charts our system, BOB, is able to generate.

Option 1:
Customer-managed Portfolio

Do you already have a facility, or collection of facilities entered into Energy Star and plan to manage this internally? AEA will upload your information onto our energy portal for additional feedback and analysis. We offer this service to single buildings for FREE.

Option 2:
AEA-managed Portfolio

This option is available for those who do not currently have an Energy Star rating, and are seeking to outsource the management of their Portfolio Manager account. AEA offers this service for a low rate of $250 per month for each facility included within your system.

Option 3:
AEA's Complete Energy Solutions

Option 3 allows us to aggressively manage your building's energy consumption and drive cost savings. Click here to learn more about our innovative technologies and proven strategies that will save you money. These programs cost about 2% to 8% of your annual utility cost

Portfolio-wide Benchmarking

It doesn't matter if you're looking to compare all of your facilities or just a specific region, campus, area, size or building type. It is a good idea for everyone to assess the last several years of their energy performance. Benchmarking allows us to pinpoint areas of concern, identify the most inefficient buildings, analyze year over year comparisons, and set reduction targets. The capacity of our web system is endless and highly customizable in order to satisfy every customer's needs.

Both Energy Star's Portfolio Manager and BOB have countless capabilities when it comes to benchmarking entire portfolios. Information such as energy intensity (BTU/SF/Yr), total annual spend, cost per square foot, greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and weather data are all available through our system. Any changes to your account are emailed to you and accessible online 24/7. By having the power of both Portfolio Manager and BOB, you will have a friendly and informative user interface.

Option 2: AEA-managed Portfolio

Portfolio Management Overview

Bank Branches | Courthouses | Data Centers | Dormitories | Financial Centers | Hospitals | Hotels
House of Worship | K-12 Schools | Medical Offices | Offices | Retailers | Supermarkets | Warehouses

In order to receive an accurate rating, basic building information and at least 12-months of utility data need to be organized and entered into Energy Star's Portfolio Manager. With an AEA-managed Portfolio, we take care of details. The list above shows the 15 building types currently eligible to receive an Energy Star rating. Each building type requires considerably different information, so contact us with the space type you are interested in, and we will provide you with the mandatory specifications. Our energy portal, BOB is compatible with all of the information within Portfolio Manager, and can be uploaded instantly.

Achieving the Energy Star Label

Energy Star is a national rating system that helps you track and assess energy consumption within individual buildings and entire campuses. This system is based on a 100 point scale where a rating of 50 represents a building with approximately an industry average operating efficiency, and a rating of 75 represents an efficient building and qualifies to apply for an Energy Star Label. Customers using this service are emailed a report each time their facility or utility information has changed. This report includes the latest rating(s) and corresponding summary charts.

Once a facility achieves the status of having the Energy Star label, they are sent a plaque that can be put on display at the facility. This status is held for one year before the facility is given the opportunity to re-apply. Once all the general building information and utility data is in the system: you can set energy and/or cost reduction targets; view GHG emissions; analyze current data against your baseline; and generate various charts and graphs.

Note, your facility is not only compared to other facilities entered into Energy Star. Instead, statistically representative models are used to compare your building against similar buildings from a national survey conducted by the Department of Energy's Energy Information Administration. These models are conducted every 4 years and assist in matching your facility to those that have similar building and operating characteristics.

Option 3: AEA's Complete Energy Solutions

FastTrack Program Overview

AEA offers two programs that go beyond the information attained and presented from Option 1 and 2, and assist your orginization to drive energy savings. Our FastTrack program integrates building automation system (BAS) trending capability into BOB. Using interfaces developed by AEA to continually interface with existing programming systems, we import the data into the Energy Portal (BOB) for evaluation.

The data is evaluated through on-line graphical analysis and AEA engineers look for failed control devices, inefficient programming sequences and incorrect operation; AEA then identifies strategies to reduce energy consumption. Once identified, AEA works with on-site engineers to solve these issues and perform additional analyses to ensure the changes made continue to conserve energy and money.

OnTrack Program Overview

In facilities where aggressive management is needed or where on-site engineers do not have the time and/or resources to make the recommended changes, AEA provides its !track service. This couples the BAS trending and analysis (FastTrack) with on-site visits by AEA engineers to assist the operating staff in implementing the recommended changes.
